Cal is seventeen years old, the only son of Reed and Violet Chandler. Reed is a New York Senator, gearing up for a long-anticipated run for the Presidency, and his family - a famous family, a family often referred to in the press as America's Royalty - must reflect upon him perfectly. Violet and Reed's brother, Grahame, are consummate actors born to charm and manipulate (and to run Reed's career so smoothly that they never have to take the chance of Reed getting in his own way), but Cal . . . Cal has never handled pressure very well.
